How to Start the School Year and Some Summer Activities

Aug 02, 2019

To all the parents of Kings Mill, do you know what your morning commute for the school year looks like yet? The First Day of School for New Caney ISD is August 12, 2019. This means a change to your morning routine, and we want to help make as smooth possible because we know just how rough it can be.

One tip for an effortless drive the morning of your child’s first day is to practice your routes beforehand. Take advantage of these last couple weeks of summer to explore the empty morning roads before school buses need to stop at every street. Doing this will save you from the dreaded moment when you realize you’ve forgotten about the buses and are now 10 minutes late to work. It will also help you budget in time for a nice breakfast with your family, so you know exactly what time things need to happen for you and your child to get where you need to be on time. If you really want to treat yourself, figure out the right time to leave your house for you to sneak in a Starbucks run before heading to work. It will make all the difference.

A Reminder from New Caney ISD

Elementary students will need a Pre-Printed Car Rider pass to be dismissed and released from school in the easiest manner possible. Teachers will only release students to cars with the pre-printed tag. If parents do not have a pass starting the first day of school, they will need to go into the Front Office to present their Photo ID in order to pick up the student.
If your child will be a car rider, fill out this form and submit it to the office at Manor Elementary. They will have the forms processed and tags ready for you to pick up at Meet The Teacher Night on August 8, 2019. You will need your photo ID to pick up the tags!
