Woodridge Forest Middle School’s GT Parent Meeting
Parents in the Kings Mill community can nominate their child in two weeks to participate in the Gifted and Talented program at Woodridge Forest Middle School!
Tuesday, September 24, 2019
This meeting begins at 6 p.m.
New Caney ISD Annex
22500 Eagle Drive
New Caney, Texas
This purpose of this meeting is for parents to learn more about the Gifted and Talented Program. Parents will be provided with information about the test procedures for the GT program and understand the characteristics that the State looks for when selecting the students to participate in the program.
Texas aims to provide a catered education for students who perform at a higher level than other students among them. Students who are recognized as “gifted and talented” are those who “exhibit high performance capability in an intellectual, creative, or artistic area, possesses an unusual capacity for leadership, or excels in a specific academic field.” Students in the Gifted and Talented program are taught at a more challenging level to help their academic growth. This purpose of this program is to help develop and strengthen their leadership skills, discipline, and innovation.
The Gifted and Talented program is incredibly benefitting to the students, and the community of Kings Mill encourages all Woodridge Forest Middle School parents to attend this meeting.
